“My name is Ann and for the last two and half years, I have been a family therapist in an agency, that deals with, individuals struggling with addiction. One of the most important pieces for me [aside from] having this wonderful opportunity to participate in this workshop with Master Sue Johnson and the other supporting people in the EFT community, here in Houston — One of the foundational pieces for me, has been the notion of the importance of attachment, the attachment theory, especially for those struggling with addiction.
I see couples and families every week who continue to try to sort through [addiction] and they come in not [being aware of] having many feelings. They come in with “anger” and “mad”, until, discovering all the feelings they have and where those feelings actually came from. Watching that process is amazing and EFT has given me more information, more tools, and skills to help individuals as they navigate the struggles of addiction.“
